Privacy Policy
Jiyama is built to work with as little personal information as reasonably possible. This policy explains what stays on your device and what may be processed by the services that operate the website and payments.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to Jiyama's website, applications, educational activities, and related services (collectively, "Jiyama"). The Equations application does not require an account and does not ask you to provide a name, email address, age, school, student identifier, password, or other profile information in order to use it.
Jiyama uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall website usage and performance. Jiyama has not added advertising networks, advertising pixels, Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or similar advertising or behavioral-tracking tools. Standard technical information may also be processed automatically by the infrastructure providers described below when they deliver, secure, or operate the website.
2. Local storage for settings and progress
Equations uses your browser's local storage to remember settings and level or progress information on that device and browser. This allows the application to remember your preferences between visits.
This local storage is not a Jiyama account. Jiyama's application code does not intentionally send these saved settings or level-progress values to Jiyama. You can remove them by clearing Jiyama's site data in your browser.
3. Firebase, Cloudflare, and website infrastructure
Jiyama uses third-party infrastructure, including Firebase and Cloudflare, to host, deliver, route, and protect the website. Like most web infrastructure, these services may automatically process technical information when you visit Jiyama. Depending on the service and configuration, this can include an IP address, request date and time, requested page or resource, browser or device information, routing information, and security-related data.
This processing supports site delivery, reliability, troubleshooting, and security. Jiyama does not use this infrastructure data to build advertising profiles. For more information, see Firebase's privacy information and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
4. Cloudflare Web Analytics
Jiyama uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the website is used and how well pages perform. The analytics available to Jiyama may include aggregate information such as visits and page views, page paths, referring sites, country, device type, browser, operating system, navigation type, page-load timing, and Core Web Vitals.
Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data, does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics, does not fingerprint individuals for analytics, and does not track individual users across Cloudflare customers' websites. Jiyama uses these analytics to understand overall usage, improve performance and reliability, and decide where the website can be improved. Jiyama does not use Web Analytics for advertising or to create individual user or student profiles. See Cloudflare's Web Analytics information for more details.
5. Payments and support through Stripe
If you choose to make a payment or contribution through Jiyama, payment processing is handled by Stripe. Payment details are submitted to and processed by Stripe rather than stored directly by Jiyama. Stripe may process payment-method information, transaction information, contact or billing information you provide, IP address, device information, and fraud-prevention signals.
Jiyama may receive limited transaction information made available by Stripe, such as the amount, payment status, and contact information associated with the transaction. Jiyama does not receive or store your full payment-card number. See the Stripe Privacy Center for more information.
6. Contact by email
Jiyama does not currently use a website contact form. If you email contact@jiyama.com, Jiyama will receive the email address you send from and any information you include in your message. That information may be kept as reasonably necessary to respond to you, maintain a record of the conversation, handle support or licensing matters, or comply with legal obligations.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Jiyama has not intentionally added cookies for advertising or analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics. Equations uses local storage as described above to save settings and progress on your device, which is separate from analytics. Other third-party services used to operate Jiyama, particularly payment and security services, may use cookies or similar technologies when necessary to provide their services, prevent fraud, maintain security, or remember choices under their own policies.
8. Children's privacy
Jiyama is an educational service and may be used by students. Equations does not require users to create accounts and does not ask children to submit names, email addresses, ages, school information, or other profile information in order to use the application. Jiyama does not knowingly use student information for advertising or behavioral profiling.
Standard technical information may still be processed by hosting, delivery, security, analytics, or payment providers as described in this policy. Jiyama does not use analytics to create individual student profiles or to track students across websites. Students and educators should not send student records, student identifiers, or other sensitive student information to Jiyama by email. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to Jiyama, contact contact@jiyama.com so it can be reviewed.
9. How information is used and shared
To the extent Jiyama receives or has access to information described in this policy, it may be used to operate and secure the service, measure aggregate website usage and performance, improve the service, process payments, respond to messages, troubleshoot problems, enforce Jiyama's terms, and comply with legal obligations.
Jiyama does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be processed by service providers such as Firebase, Cloudflare (including Cloudflare Web Analytics), Stripe, and email infrastructure when needed to provide their respective services, or disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity.
10. Retention and security
Locally saved settings and progress remain in your browser until they are changed, removed by the application, or cleared from your browser or device. Information handled by Firebase, Cloudflare (including Web Analytics), Stripe, or email providers is retained according to the applicable provider's systems, settings, and policies. Jiyama may retain emails, transaction records, or other information it receives for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was received, recordkeeping, security, or legal compliance.
Jiyama uses service providers and reasonable technical measures intended to protect the website and information associated with it, but no internet service or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your choices and privacy requests
You can clear Equations' locally stored settings and progress through your browser's site-data controls. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use an analytics cookie, local-storage identifier, or Jiyama account profile for its usage metrics. If you have contacted Jiyama by email or made a payment and have a question about information Jiyama may hold, send a request to contact@jiyama.com. Requests concerning information controlled directly by Firebase, Cloudflare, Stripe, or another third party may also need to be directed to that provider.
12. Changes and contact
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Jiyama changes or as its services and legal obligations evolve. Material revisions will be posted on this page with an updated date.
